Automotive Apprenticeships

The MTA is South Australia’s only dedicated automotive industry training provider, delivering apprentices with the skills, training and industry access to best prepare them for a career as a motor mechanic, diesel mechanic, panel beater, vehicle painter or other automotive apprentice.

Apply for an apprenticeship today!

As South Australia's only dedicated automotive industry training provider, the MTA gives you the skills, training and industry access to prepare you for your automotive career.

MTA's Automotive Apprenticeships are coordinated at our advanced Training & Employment Centre at Royal Park.

There are two ways you can complete your qualification with the MTA:

  • Become employed by us and we'll find you a host business for you to work for.
  • Gain an apprenticeship on your own and do your training at South Australia's most progressive automotive training facility.

Staff from our Group Training Organisation can act as a third party for the MTA Registered Training Organisation and undertake approved student recruitment.

If you're over 21 years old, please read MTA's Adult Apprenticeship Policy prior to completing an application.

If you have experience in the automotive industry but not the qualifications, you may be eligible to receive Recognition of Prior Learning.

Every year, MTA apprentices have the opportunity to be involved in an exciting, hands-on role at Adelaide 500 as part of the Motorsport Repair Team. Either in pit lane with a Supercar Team or working on vehicles from other race categories, our apprentices are exposed to the action of top level car racing.
