Automotive Body Repair Technology

Funded by the State Government, the Automotive Body Repair Technology course is part of the Jobs First Employment Project which was developed to provide jobseekers with the skills and knowledge to perform a range of basic tasks when repairing and maintaining the automotive body of cars and other vehicles.

he Automotive Body Repair Technology course is wholly funded by the State Government and runs for 10 weeks as part of the Jobs First Qualification Project.

Developed to address an industry identified employment gap, this program is available to assist unemployed and underemployed jobseekers to enter the industry at this level.

To undertake this training, candidates need to pass an Upfront Assessment of Needs and interview to ensure they have the abilities to undertake the training and work experience components.

This course delivers units that once completed can form part of a Certificate II and covers the skills and knowledge required to perform a range of basic tasks when repairing and maintaining the automotive body of cars and other vehicles.

The course includes:

  • 8 Weeks Training (held at the MTA training facilities in Royal Park)
  • 2 Weeks Work Experience*

*The work experience component of this course is held in industry workplaces looking to increase staff in this area of expertise.

The focus of the program is to provide skills and knowledge with work experience to unemployed and underemployed jobseekers and a transition pathway to employment within the industry.

A statement of attainment will be available at the completion of successful training.

This program is fully funded under normal WorkReady eligibility rules, as such, a student who undertakes this course would not attract WorkReady funding for undertaking subsequent Certificate II courses. Click here or visit www.skills.sa.gov.au for eligibility criteria.

Participants will be provided relevant PPE and training materials.

Units delivered form part of the AUR20520 - Certificate II in Automotive Servicing Technology, delivered by the MTA (RTO 2293).
