Second-hand Vehicle Dealer licence fees will go up approximately 10% across the board from 1 July 2019.

This is a disappointing development as the previous two increases were only 2.2%. It is possibly yet a response to the loss in state revenue of federal GST collections and mirrors fee increases in many other sectors.

The annual fees will be as follows:

For individuals

• Motorcycle only - $226.00 (up from $205.00)
• Any other case (light vehicles) - $474 (up from $431

For body corporates

• Motorcycle only - $330.00 (up from $300.00)
• Any other case - $712.00 (up from $647)
