A Team Effort: Crafting the Unique MTA Locker

Public news

Prior to their graduation, a team of highly skilled MTA automotive refinishing technicians joined forces to create a unique MTA locker. Antony, positioned second from the bottom left in the group, shared insightful details about the process involved in designing and constructing this distinctive locker.

"First, we proceeded to sand the cabinet. Following the sanding process, we thoroughly cleaned it and prepared the cabinet by applying masking tape to protect certain areas. In the booth, a team of three of us worked on the design, carefully deciding on the placement of each letter for the MTA. We began by applying a silver base coat, followed by the creation of lines. At this point, we were uncertain whether to use blue or black. Ultimately, we opted for black around the edges, placing stickers for the MTA and surrounding them with black."

"We then proceeded to install the door handles. Next, we applied two coats of blue paint on the face and added an extra two coats on the edges to make it look really deep. After allowing it to dry, we removed the stickers and applied another layer of blue to enhance the depth. Once the painting process was complete, we let it dry, performed a final cleaning, and now the cabinet is ready!"
