Dangerous Goods & Hazardous Chemicals

This training course has been developed for workplaces where dangerous goods and hazardous substances are used, handled, stored and/or transported.

Attending this workshop will ensure your staff are equipped with the standards, regulations and compliance knowledge and strategies to protect staff and your business.

This workshop is conducted in three sessions with the opportunity to enrol in sessions individually or attend the full day training.

Session 1: Provides a general overview of the health and safety risks and the legal framework including changing standards associated with the use, storage and handling of hazardous substances and dangerous goods in the workplace.

Session 2: Describes how to interpret the changing dangerous goods standards and other relevant data and monitor systems designed to minimise health and safety risks. It addition, it will support participants to determine appropriate strategies for the practical, compliant management of hazardous chemicals and dangerous goods at their workplace.

Session 3: Discusses the issues and changing standards affecting the transportation of dangerous goods.

This course is for owners and operators, workshop managers or supervisors of anyone who works with hazardous substances or dangerous goods, anyone with authority to purchase chemicals or dangerous goods and WHS advisors of businesses where hazardous chemicals or dangerous goods are used, handled, stored and/or transported.

Presented by Paul Dewing, a leading South Australian Industrial Hygienist and Ergonomist, these sessions are an opportunity for participants to discuss issues and any concerns relating to the management of dangerous goods and hazardous substances.
